A Statement of Art: Aneurin Sanders

As an artist, I'm deeply passionate about exploring the world around me and capturing its essence through various creative mediums and techniques. My artistic journey began in Cardiff, where I studied art and discovered a love for painting and photography. Since then, I've continued to evolve my style and explore new themes and ideas that inspire me.

One of the central themes that underpins my artwork is psychogeography. This concept involves delving into the emotional and psychological effects of the built environment on individuals. By wandering through urban landscapes and recording my observations, I aim to create artwork that captures the essence of a place and reveals the hidden stories and histories that lie beneath the surface. I believe that by delving beneath the surface of our surroundings, we can uncover new perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the world we inhabit.

In addition to exploring the physical world, I'm also fascinated by the rapidly evolving world of technology and the potential it offers to artists. By incorporating innovative techniques into my creative process, I can explore new ways of generating imagery and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in art.

My work is influenced by a range of artistic styles, including the surrealist techniques of Salvador Dali, the futuristic visions of the futurists, and the bold, graphic approach of Graham Sutherland. I'm drawn to artists who are unafraid to make a statement and challenge the status quo, such as the Chapman brothers.

Through my artwork, I strive to create visually striking and thought-provoking pieces that engage my audience and encourage them to consider the world in new ways. I aim to challenge preconceived notions and explore the boundaries of what is possible through art. Ultimately, my goal is to create a dialogue with my viewers and to inspire them to think critically about the world around them.

In many ways, my artwork is a reflection of my own personal journey and experiences. By capturing the essence of the places and themes that inspire me, I hope to share my vision with others and encourage them to join me on this journey of discovery. Whether through painting, photography, or the latest artistic techniques, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in art and to using my creativity to make a positive impact on the world.
